Dust Your Shoes Sir?

March 31, 2009 in Costume Adventures by Mascarade Marla

A couple of my favorite girls and I were out on our monthly date to catch up on the latest gossip last week. Of course you know the convo found its way over to the topic of our men… Ok, and men in general; we are women after all. There was this one thing we kept joking around about and teasing Tracey all night over. As it turns out one of her husband’s favorite chores for her is cleaning the house…as a French Maid.

Costume Transform Me

March 30, 2009 in Costume Adventures by Mascarade Marla

If a person takes on the persona of what a costume represents, how do you get the personality you’re going for? What costume will make you feel just the way you want to? How do you know which ones will put you in character?

Does putting on a costume transform you? Do you feel the power of a Goddess of Love when you dress the part?

My Favorite Costume Ever!

March 27, 2009 in Costume Adventures by Mascarade Marla

When I think about my memories as a child I think about those that included dressing up in a costume and dragging my mom out to the riches neighborhoods to collect all that candy! Those rich women would put bowls of candy out on their porches large enough for me to crawl inside and they were always filled with the best candy in the world!

Wild and Witchy

March 26, 2009 in Costume Adventures by Masked Molly

Most people who dress in costumes will choose to be a witch sooner or later. If you want to be a witch for your next event, which witch should you be? Should you be a good witch or a bad witch?

Don’t you love dressing in matching couples costumes? There are so many possibilities. For one thing, it’s not too often you show up at a party in couples costumes when people can’t figure out who you are. I mean chances are, if they can’t tell who you’re supposed to be, they can figure out who your date is supposed to be, and then it all makes sense to them.

My Attraction to Men in Small Tight Costumes

March 23, 2009 in Celebrity Costumes by Mascarade Marla

So, I’m thinking I can’t be the only one to have gone through a stage of “Wrestle Mania” addiction. I can’t say it lasted for a very long time or at least I don’t admit to the true hold time it had on me. I wish I could say it was only the costumes they wore that I enjoyed looking at, but no.

Love Those Animal Costumes

March 20, 2009 in Costume Adventures by Masked Molly

Close your eyes and imagine that you could be any animal that you wanted to be. What would you choose?

Costumes are a blast, because they allow you to act out some of these fantasies. You can completely turn yourself not only into a different person, but into a different form of life altogether.

Sasquatch Sighted at Oval Office Ball

March 19, 2009 in Celebrity Costumes by Ren Faire Reese

The limousine pulled up in front of the White House and the Secret Service greeted me as they opened the doors for me and the other two invited guests. We held the honor and distinction of being the first press personnel to be invited to the Oval Office Ball without being on a news assignment. This was a first for me. Can you feel my excitement as I try not to perspire on that beautiful dancing gown that I bought just for this occasion?

My gown is gorgeous, chic, and shiny jet black. The front and back are cut in a V with lace inserts for a little added elegance and to preserve the mystery. The shoes I’m wearing really complement the gown but they are soft like slippers and low to the floor, so I won’t be. I’m not the most graceful person in heels and forget about dancing in them!

Costumes that are Made for More than Clowning Around

March 18, 2009 in Costume Adventures by Ren Faire Reese

Clowns represent the universal language of laughter. Their costumes say it all.

I remember the days of going to the circus. Every year when Barnum & Bailey came to town, my parents took us to the Jaffa Mosque to see this great circus performance. As I recall, the clowns were always the center of attention. They were the opening act, the intermission, and the closing act.

I remember how we climbed the bleacher seats up to the balcony level so we could get a good view of the trapeze act. My little eyes stared in amazement at the fancy dressed men and women who hung from the ropes and swings while they challenged gravity.
